Reflecting on My Accomplishments and Personality

Today, I took the time to evaluate some of my proudest accomplishments—moments that truly showcased my skills and character. Each experience taught me invaluable lessons that shaped the person I am today. Here's what I learned from each milestone:

1. Completing the 50 Hard Challenge

The 50 Hard Challenge tested me both physically and mentally. It required strict discipline to complete two 45-minute workouts daily (one indoors and one outdoors), drink a gallon of water every day, abstain from alcohol, follow a diet, and read 10 pages of an educational book daily.Sticking to this regimen, especially during social outings or vacations, was a challenge. However, I stayed committed and completed the challenge, proving to myself that I could prioritize long-term growth over short-term gratification. Many of the habits I cultivated during this time, such as discipline and self-improvement, remain part of my daily life. This experience taught me the value of resilience and persistence in becoming the best version of myself.

2. My Summer Job at the Local Country Club

During the summer, I worked at my local country club. This job provided me with insight into the operational side of such establishments, allowed me to save for my abroad fund, and introduced me to amazing people who opened doors to other opportunities.Though there were challenges, including dealing with strict rules and sometimes difficult customers, the experience taught me essential life skills like patience, professionalism, and conflict resolution. It also reinforced the value of hard work and adaptability in challenging environments.

3. Starting My Own Fashion Line

For my senior year project, I launched my own fashion line: a positive-messaging sweat suit brand. This endeavor taught me numerous skills, including graphic design, screen printing, marketing, and building a website from scratch. Seeing my vision come to life and sharing it with the world was incredibly fulfilling.Despite the challenges—high costs, labor-intensive processes, and time constraints—I sold out of all my products and earned an A on my project. This experience reaffirmed my passion for fashion and my ability to turn ideas into reality.

Discovering My Skills Across Accomplishments

After reflecting on these experiences, I identified the skills I used in each “era” of my accomplishments. Across all three, I consistently had to:

  • Study, Observe

  • Follow through and get things done

  • Use my intuition

  • Plan

  • Organize, Classify

  • Listen

  • Speak

  • Motivate

  • Use my body, hands, fingers, with unusual strength

  • Examine, inspect, compare, see similarities and differences

  • Work with people, data, and tangible things—showcasing versatility.

These experiences showed me how interconnected my skills are and how they contribute to my overall versatility. While each accomplishment was challenging, they helped shape the person I am today, and I wouldn’t change them for anything.

My Personality Test: ESFJ

Moving forward, I took a personality test that gave me deeper insight into my character. I’ve taken tests before, but this one stood out for its clarity. I discovered I am an ESFJ (Extraverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging)—a personality type known for being:

  • People-Oriented: I thrive in social settings and love building connections.

  • Supportive and Caring: Helping others is second nature to me.

  • Detail-Oriented and Organized: I excel at bringing structure and reliability to tasks.

  • Strong in Duty: I take my responsibilities seriously and follow through.

  • A Team Player: Collaboration is one of my biggest strengths.

While I was already somewhat aware of these traits, it was reassuring to see them confirmed. Additionally, the test highlighted some areas for growth, such as:

  • Being overly sensitive.

  • Seeking validation from others.

  • Resistance to change.

  • Avoiding conflict.

  • Overcommitting myself.

Recognizing these weaknesses made me more self-aware, and I’m proud of my ability to acknowledge and work on them. Awareness will help me reassess challenging situations and adapt more effectively.

Moving Forward

Reflecting on my accomplishments and understanding my personality has been a valuable exercise. I’ve learned so much about the skills I’ve developed and how I can use them to grow even further. Looking back has given me clarity on how my past challenges contribute to who I am today, and I’m excited to apply these lessons as I continue to evolve.

I also came across an article on ESFJs that made things even clearer. It dives into the strengths and challenges of being an ESFJ, as well as how these traits shine in different aspects of life. Reading it felt like a mirror reflecting my personality and helped me better understand how to navigate both my strengths and areas for growth.

This reflection was both enlightening and motivating. It reminded me that every challenge—no matter how hard—is a stepping stone to becoming the best version of myself. I look forward to building on these lessons and continuing to grow.
